There are new versions of Sysprep for XP, XPSP1, XPSP2, XPSP3, Vista, Vista SP1. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766514(v=ws.10).aspx " Each OS capture will run sysprep command which will reset windows product activation. I load the capture media ISO, it asks for image location, credentials, version, details, then starts the Task Sequence, and promptly fails at "Running sysprep command". Since anytime you want to make changes to the image you will need to manually rebuild the iamge from scratch again, method 2 is prefered since it automates the image building

Don't worry once you uninstall those apps they get reinstalled right after you re-image a system. I've tried with and without any updates. Does it seem to get stuck at SYSPREP? I wasnt aware of the 2 log files that sysprep creates so thanks for that - I shall take a look and see what they say.
